Outsourcing Effects on America’s Economy

Though outsourcing can give lots of advantages to American companies, have you ever thought about the many Americans who lost their jobs to service providers from another country? Most of these providers are also skilled, competitive, and reliable but they would be willing to render their services for such a small amount of money. This is the main reason why lots of companies favor outsourcing.

America has been known to give utmost importance to safety and security. But not all countries have the same level of value for these things. Some countries don't even care about safety or security and they are just focused on making some money and on increasing their profits. Outsourcing the job from these countries could only mean that American companies are willing to compromise safety and security just to save money and gain more profits.

We have seen the news about the excessive amount of lead present in children's toys and even clothes. These could be very dangerous for our children because their health and lives can be put in danger and at big risk. We have also heard about the poisonous substance or chemical that is mixed with milk and other dairy products. These things could be fatal especially for our little children. If all countries will just follow America's standard for safety and security, none of these will happen. But despite these facts, most American companies still choose to outsource from low cost countries.

With call centers and other customer service related jobs, many Americans don't really get the point why companies would hire people from other countries to serve American customers. Aside from the low wages, it really doesn't make sense at all. Most companies even put call centers in non-English speaking countries. Don't you think it would be better if they will just hire Americans? They speak the same language and they have the same culture so it would be easier for them to communicate. This could also add more jobs for American people.

Offshore outsourcing can be good for companies but it will create a big damage to American economy. If more companies will decide to outsource from low cost countries, it could only mean that more Americans will lose their jobs and the unemployment rate could rise. These people will then settle for jobs that offer low payment and compensation just to have a source of income to feed their families and use for their daily expenses. Outsourcing may be good for some American business owners but not America itself.
